It`s a wonderful book. If you really listen and take it on board, it has the potential to completely change your life (and the one around you) for the best it can be. Simple ideas, but total meaning. Peter Coyote tells it beautifully and the length is perfect to get the message across concisely and concisely, while allowing you to absorb his wonderful messages. I can`t recommend it enough. It`s not often that I get a „buzz“ from a book, but I`m scolding now. Do yourself a favor…. Although the content and arrangements are useful and relevant to the 21st century, I had the impression that there were many very religious and supra-spiritual elements in the stories. The book is based on a series of spiritual beliefs, held by Toltec`s seniors, to help readers transform their lives into a new experience of freedom, happiness and love. [4] According to the author, everything a man does is based on agreements he has made with himself, with others, with God and with life itself. [1] In these agreements, we can tell ourselves who they are, how to behave, what is possible and what is impossible. [1] Some agreements that create individuals may not cause problems, but there are certain arrangements that come from a place of fear and have the power to deplete emotional energy and reduce a person`s self-esteem. [1] The book states that these self-limiting agreements cause unnecessary suffering.
[1] Ruiz also believes that to find personal joy, one must get rid of socially imposed and fear-based agreements that can unconsciously influence the individual`s behaviour and thinking. [5] Another fundamental premise of the book suggests that much of the suffering is created and that most people have the ability to transform themselves and the negative thoughts they have about the situations in their lives. [6] The author identifies the sources of unhappiness in life and proposes four beneficial agreements that can be concluded with oneself to improve their general state of well-being. By pacting with these four most important chords, an individual is able to dramatically influence the amount of happiness he feels in his life, regardless of external circumstances. [6] This is a brilliant book with an excellent audio edition. It describes four simple agreements that you must make with yourself, which will allow you to increase your control over how you live your life: 1) Be immaculate with your word; 2) Don`t take anything personally; 3) Don`t make assumptions; 4) Always do your best. Easy doesn`t mean easy! Don Miguel`s book helps the reader to have the power of these chords and to use it. Reading Peter Coyotes is a pleasure that supports the learning process.
It is a timeless work that can be constantly recalled. I found the four chords even more powerful than Stephen Coveys Seven Habits, which speaks volumes. And just like the seven habits, the four chords are powerful in all aspects of your life, including family, work and recreation. In addition to demhur`s book and book, there is also an eBook, a four-colour picture book, a card game and an online course. [1] Our personal power is based on the agreements we make, and often we make these arrangements to please others, instead of being true to ourselves. In doing so, we will give you our personal strength. In the Four Accords, it is a matter of regaining our personal power by being authentic and holding on to our true self. The four chords are: 1) Be impeccable in your word, 2) Don`t take anything personally, 3) Don`t make assumptions, and 4) Always do your best.
These agreements are certainly simple, but far from simple.
